Amanda Brugel

Pointe Claire, a quiet neighborhood located in the West Island of Montreal is something you could call a "sleepy" place. Many people who don't know they mistakenly believe they are on the West Island extends westward from Montreal. In fact it is the West Island includes everything westward from that city Lachine. Amanda Brugel grew up on this island, and it is often known as the place where she was born. It is true that she was there for a brief time. Brugel became an aspiring young lady living in Courtice Ontario, outside Oshawa. Her early ambition was to be a dancer but a growth spurt meant that she literally outgrew the dancers she was with. A Toronto Star article revealed she's 6ft 1in tall in heels. After I outgrew the male counterparts, I gave up. Numerous former dancers choose to become actors. For Brugel, it was the encouragement from her drama teacher at high school that led her in the direction she needed. She was recommended by a teacher to get a role for school's annual production. She tried out and ended up playing the leading role in Anne of Green Gables. Following her award of the Fine Arts Talent Scholarship, she enrolled in York University and earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in the year 2000. Over the last 20 years, Brugel's work been seen on both the small and big screen. Her work gained most recognition when she landed her part as Rita on the award-winning TV show The Handmaid's Tale. Brugel was the sole Canadian of the season 1 actors of the series as well as appearing only on occasion, was the sole Canadian.
